Some excellent points. Simplification surely is the key. The forward pass is an obvious example. If the ball goes in front of the passer it shouldn't be necessary to look for how it left the hands - if it goes forward it is a forward pass. I would also like to see proper scrums where the scrumhalf has to put the ball in straight - not feed it towards his own locks.
